Something truly extraordinary happened recently, and I have been pinching myself ever since I received the news: one of our studio portraits was invited to be featured in an international photography portrait art show in Springfield, Illinois!

To be recognized alongside talented portrait artists from around the world is an incredible honor—but what makes this milestone so deeply meaningful to me is who was in front of the lens.

The portrait selected for the exhibition wasn’t a planned editorial or a formal studio model; it was one of our wonderful, spirited contestants from our very own Pooch Playoffs !

Celebrating Dogs as the True Works of Art They Are

If you followed along earlier this year, you know how special our Pooch Playoffs tournament was. Together, our community came out in full force to celebrate our four-legged family members while rallying behind an amazing local cause, A Woman’s Work . We watched tails wag, tongues hang out, and distinct personalities light up the studio with over 20,000 eyes following along during the bracket rounds.

When photographing pets, my goal is never just to get a cute snap with their ears perked. Pets are family. They carry soul, quirkiness, loyalty, and deep character. I approach every pet portrait session with the exact same fine-art care, lighting precision, and depth that I bring to our signature family and children’s heirloom portraits

To see an image born out of a community charity event take its place on the walls of an international portrait gallery proves what pet parents already know: our animals aren’t just pets—they are fine art.
