Golden Doodle Dog Portraits: 5 cool things about Golden Doodles

We don’t own a dog. Allergies and frankly, I have a potty training 3-year-old right now… need I say more. But I LOVE to have all the furry friends come into my studio for dog portraits and we have a blast. Dog photography can lead to some of the COOLEST portrait wall art for your home full of fun energy and color.

Alexes and her sweet pup Eleanor came up from Colorado Springs to play and I love our results. Here are some fun facts for funsies about Golden Doodles:

If you’ve ever encountered a Goldendoodle, you know these furry friends are a mix of poodle elegance and golden retriever charm. They’re not just cute, though—they’re packed with personality and quirks that make them irresistibly lovable. Here are five fun facts about these adorable fluffballs that might just make you want one of your own! And you just might be inspired to get Golden Doodle dog portraits of your own!

1. The Best of Both Worlds

Goldendoodles are a hybrid breed, combining the best traits of Golden Retrievers and Poodles. Golden Retrievers are known for their friendly and tolerant attitudes, while Poodles are famous for their intelligence and low-shedding coats. Put them together, and you get a smart, friendly, and hypoallergenic (mostly) pup that’s perfect for families and allergy sufferers alike!

2. They’re Hypoallergenic… Sort Of

One of the biggest draws of Goldendoodles is their hypoallergenic fur. While no dog is completely hypoallergenic, Goldendoodles come close. Thanks to their Poodle lineage, they tend to shed less, making them a great choice for people who usually sneeze at the sight of a dog. Just remember, each doodle is different—some might shed more than others, but they’re generally more allergy-friendly than many other breeds.

This is good new for me for doing dog photography. I think I vacuumed up fur for an hour after having 9 dogs in the studio!

3. They Come in All Shapes and Sizes

Goldendoodles aren’t one-size-fits-all. Depending on the size of their Poodle parent, they can range from tiny (Toy Goldendoodles) to huge (Standard Goldendoodles). This means there’s a Goldendoodle out there to fit just about any lifestyle, whether you’re looking for a small apartment-friendly dog or a larger, more active companion.

4. They’re Basically Comedians

Goldendoodles have a knack for making people laugh. They have playful personalities and often exhibit goofy behaviors that are bound to bring a smile to your face. From their adorable head tilts to their energetic zoomies around the house, Goldendoodles are natural-born entertainers.

5. They’re Super Social

If you’re looking for a dog that’s great with kids, other dogs, and even cats, a Goldendoodle is a fantastic choice. These pups are incredibly social and love being around people and other animals. They thrive on companionship and are always up for a playdate at the park or a cuddle session on the couch. One thing that I have loved about doing dog photography, is how fun and social having these pup in the studio is!

Goldendoodles are the perfect blend of cuteness, intelligence, and sociability. Whether you’re looking for a low-shedding pet, a playful companion, or a new best friend, these delightful dogs have got you covered. So, the next time you see a Goldendoodle, remember these fun facts and give them a little extra love—they deserve it!

If you’re a proud Goldendoodle parent or considering becoming one, share your experiences and thoughts in the comments. We’d love to hear about your fluffy friend’s antics and charm!
